Jon Lijoi is a trumpet/flugelhorn player, producer, teacher, composer and arranger from New Jersey. He has been back in New York for about a two years now, just after kicking around Nashville for a while. He is recently finished his Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at NYU, where he played with the NYU Jazz Orchestra, Lenny Pickett's Block Party Band, Kenny Werner, Brian Lynch, Rich Shemaria, Mike Richmond, Memo Acevedo and the NYU Latin Jazz Ensemble plus many many more outstanding musicians. Jon also co leads New York City's newest face melting experimental funk band, the NIGHT OF THE LIVING FUNK (FUNKZOMBIE.COM) and also can be heard with the Verbena Court Strut Band( VCSB.COM ) one of Nashville's Dirtiest funk/hip-hop ensembles.
